Giuliana and Bill?

Wow, it's been a long time since I wrote last.  We've been out of town for a little vacation, so I am working hard to get caught up on everyone's blogs.

Last week I went out for lunch with my best friend.  During that time, I told her we were going to do IVF.  She has been so incredibly supportive through all of this -- in fact she called me the day of my miscarriage (she didn't even know we were pregnant) just because she "felt like she needed to."  Anyway, she had several questions and stated that the only thing she knew about IVF was from watching Giuliana and Bill.

I had never watched Giuliana and Bill.  But I remembered that they had recently been in the news when she was diagnosed with breast cancer during a pre-IVF mammogram.  I had been intrigued in their story, but hadn't dug any deeper.

Since I had a lengthy airplane trip coming up, I decided to download seasons 2 & 3 to my iPad.  And I watched several episodes over the flights.  All  I can say is -- good for them, for allowing the media into their very private life and experiences.  There is NO way I would let anyone document this journey for others to see.

I can't wait to watch more episodes.  I feel like I can really relate to what they are doing.  Sure, they have pretty unlimited resources available to them, and they seem pretty naive about the whole infertility testing, processes, etc, but so was I 5 years ago...

Any of you watch this show?  What are your thoughts?

  1. I absolutely love their show and am amazed that they are so open about their struggles - all of them. I think it's great what they are doing and, because of Giuliana, I had a mammogram last week (for the first time). I applaud anyone that brings light to others about this journey - it's very brave. GL to you!

  2. Love, love, love them and their show. They just seem very down to earth. Plus I live in Chicago and have my whole life so I have a soft spot for Bill. Their first IVF doctor here is actually my doctor, one of the best and I was lucky enough to have success with him.

  4. I watch that show only because they were doing IVF and I automatically like them because they are dealing with infertility. I rarely, rarely watch reality shows, but I am hooked on this one. And I just read the comment above mine and am so excited!

  5. I've never watched that show. But I have read about their struggles in the news.

I'm so glad there is finally a celebrity putting a face with infertility!

  6. Ive never watched the show, I just couldn't relate to the fact that they had an endless supply of money to spend on treatments. I'm glad they are finally pregnant, they deffinetly deserve it after all the heartbreak, but I still couldn't relate, I guess I'm too bitter, lol. I think it's great if they spread the news about infertility though.

  7. Just saw an article today and they are pregnant via surrogate. I have watched a few episodes and it is just nice to see a couple speaking about it so open and honestly. Makes it seem okay for me to too.

  10. I liked the show before we struggled with infertility but now that we are going through it I just watched season 2 again and it is crazy how differently I look at it. My husband and I tried IUI and are now moving to IVF. It is comforting to watch someone else go through it and relate to how they are feeling. I love them and want to watch season 3 and the rest but don't have cable and couldn't find it online. I was just searching for it today! Where did you download it from??

  12. Thanks for stopping by and your comments on my blog... I've been a bad blogger recently with not having much time to blog and even reading blogs. Know I am thinking of you.
